Waiting Well

August 12, 2017

Here we go another singles blog (rolled eyes) but I am writing from the  perspective of learning to wait; well yes easier said than done. But trusting in what God has for you is far better than just getting sloppy seconds or someone who isn't God's best! Even if that guy is a Christian it doesn't mean he is God's best!

I was flicking through my bible a couple of months ago and I landed on this bible verse! Since looking back on it a couple of times it never loses the power of its meaning. I was asking God why am I still waiting but to be honest I wouldn't have been able to do all the things that I have done as a single person such as going traveling, setting up my own business and many more things!

2 Timothy 2:20-21 (NLT)

"20 In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. 21 If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honourable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work."

I love the example of how it explains the value of purity and how its compared with Gold or Silver, two of the most expensive metals and on the other hand the verse explains how it will be used in honourable use! In the verse it also says how it is used for special occasions and how the cheap ones were used for everyday use! Your purity isn't cheap, it is special for that one person who you are married to for life. Just wait for God's best, set your standards high, and alway to remember to guard you heart!

Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)

"23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it."
